Summary of Food Advertisements

Summary:

In this Popeyes ad, they were showing their new food item at the time which was the Popeyes chicken sandwich. This commercial was showing the crispy chicken with its toasted buns and included a spicy or a classic option of the sandwich. This ad was only 15 seconds, but it's described very well that it includes sensory language. This connects to "A matter of taste: Food ads work better if all senses are involved" because Popeyes's commercials used the 5 senses to enhance the customer's grasp of the food.

The Sensory languages being used in this commercial are the 4 senses which are sight, sound, and taste. The first one they used is sight, so the audience can see how delicious the Popeyes chicken Sandwich is. We see it looks crispy, well-cooked chicken with mayo and pickles, but you can always take them off. Next, they use sounds like their classic Popeyes music, and the person talking was using words like "toasted brioche buns" to persuade us to go and get the food. The last sense that was used was taste. Taste was used in this ad because they described the chicken flavor as "Buttermilk" and how great this food is.

  1. I really like the topics you touch on in your blog and feel connected to the content you've posted so far. One area that I would say to work on is personalizing your blog page. I would suggest maybe changing the theme to something that represents you or the message you want to spread and adding images. Other than that, all your posts are always answering the question or prompt, and everything is expanded on. -Briana
