PSA Video/Reflection
The ideas that I'm communicating with my audience to stay away from Amerian foods because health is at risk and to keep eating your culture foods. The specific resources that has helped flesh out ny ideas is the different PSA videos we watched in class. The PSA video about one about animals abuse has helped me because it showed me that people don't have to speak to spread a message, but can have words on the screen. Another video that helped me is the panda because it spreads the message to save pandas without speaking and show facts about the endangered species which spread the message. My old school work has helped because I remembered watching a documentary call "Super Size Me" and that documentary shows how terrible fast food is. This guy eats McDonald's for 30 days straight and shows the terrible things it does to your body. The genre of PSA and the medium which is video has helped me commuicate my ideas because it allowed me to reach an audience of the ages 13+ that understand my message and will try to take it seriously. The video allowed me to present my ideas clear because I was able to create it however I want to. I think I did well in convincing my audience of my arguement. I used factual evidence from videos and articles which are clear and easy to understand. I included examples from the documentary "Super Size Me" to support my arguement. I provided a call to take action on what you do.

DeleteI thought it was super creative that the outside source of evidence you used were other videos instead of an article! Using an automated voice was also a pretty creative way of not actually putting your voice in the video. The message you were conveying with fast food came together with the editing too - Bless
ReplyDeleteI never knew before the risks of consuming McDonalds, but seeing it firsthand is nerve wracking. I thought before that McDonalds just didn't have any positives but finding out they only have downsides is insane to me. I'm definitely interested in the movie you showed, and will watch it sometime later. - Abdullahi

ReplyDeleteI have experienced a similar effect from my time eating fast food all the time. I love how you bring light to the very real issue around the consumption of fast food in our lives. - Totemi Adeyinka
ReplyDeleteIt was great that you highlighted the dangers of fast food as well as showing how everyone can be prone to eating things like McDonalds due to it's easy accessibility. It hit close to home as growing up in an immigrant household groceries were hard to come by and so McDonalds was the cheapest option. Building upon things like food insecurity and how it impacts why people get fast food would add some more nuance to your topic. - Christopher Cardenas
ReplyDeleteFast food is something that should be more looked into because of all of the health dangers they come with. Thank you for bringing it to light and informing us about this serious topic.-Christelle
ReplyDeleteYour PSA was unique and interesting. Using the video of the guy doing the Mcdonald's experiment really supported your argument and made it much more convincing. Although fast foods taste good it's not good for our health, so it was nice that you decided to focus on this. -Briana
